Von der Plastikflasche zum Schuh

Vivaia verwendet ausrangierte Plastikflaschen, die aus dem Meer gesammelt wurden. In der Fabrik werden die Plastikflaschen gesäubert und geschnitten. Der Kunststoff wird dann anschließend zu Garnrollen verarbeitet. Diese recycelten Garnspulen werden dann zu Schuhen gestrickt. Gestrickt: So fühlt sich die Oberfläche der VIVAIA Schuhe an. Dass am Anfang sechs Plastikflaschen standen, könnte man so gar nicht erahnen. Übrigens: Das Material soll die Schuhe sehr langlebig machen. Ich bin gespannt!

Die Einlegesohlen bestehen aus weichem Naturlatexschaum aus Gummiharz, der ein superleichtes Gefühl und Komfort am Fuß erzeugt. Man merkt das, sobald man das erste Mal in den Schuh schlüpft. Die Sohlen werden aus kohlenstofffreiem Gummi hergestellt, wodurch ein flexibles Gefühl entsteht, das stoßfest, geruchsbeständig und pilzsicher ist. Auch die Verpackung besteht zu 90 % aus recycelter Pappe ohne künstliche Farbe.

Übrigens die Schuhe können in der Waschmaschine gewaschen werden. Sehr, sehr praktisch!

Der Test

VIVAIA ist mit Flats gestartet, seit diesem Monat gibt es auch Heels mit 4cm Absatz.
Ich habe mich für die Vienna-Schuhe in Forest Green entschieden. Was bei der Farbauswahl nicht einfach war. Mein erster Eindruck: Sie machen einen unglaublich schönen und schlanken Fuß. Gleichzeitig machen sie keinen langen Fuß, was bei Schuhen mit Spitze häufig ein Problem sein kann… vor allem bei großen Größen.

Beim Laufen fallen Sie nicht vom Fuß, sie sitzen stabil und fest. Ich habe gleich beim ersten Gehversuch in ihnen eine ziemlich lange Strecke bewältigt. Tatsächlich kam ich am linken Fuß mit einer Blase zurück. Allerdings hatte ich bislang nicht einen geschlossenen Schuh, bei dem mir das nicht passiert ist.
Jetzt sind sie eingelaufen und fühlen sich wie Watte um meine Füße an.

From six plastic bottle to a pair of shoes

Vivaia uses discarded plastic bottles collected from the sea. In the factory the plastic bottles are cleaned and cut. The plastic is then processed into yarn rolls. These recycled reels of yarn are then knitted into shoes. Knitted: This is how the surface of VIVAIA shoes feels. You would never have guessed that there were six plastic bottles in the beginning. By the way: The material is supposed to make the shoes very durable.

The insoles are made of soft natural latex foam made of rubber resin, which creates a super light feeling and comfort on the foot. You notice this as soon as you slip into the shoe for the first time. The soles are made of carbon-free rubber, which creates a flexible feeling that is shock-resistant, odour-resistant and fungus-proof.

The packaging is also made of 90% recycled cardboard without artificial colour. By the way, the shoes can be washed in the washing machine. Very, very practical!

The test

VIVAIA started with flats, since this month there are also heels with 4cm heels available. I decided to go for the Vienna shoes in Forest Green. Which was not easy with the choice of colours. My first impression: They make an incredibly beautiful and slim foot. At the same time, they don't make a long foot, which can often be a problem with pointed shoes ... especially in large sizes.

When you walk, they don't fall off your foot. I walked quite a long distance in them the very first time I tried to walk. In fact I came back with a blister on my left foot. However, up to now I have only had one closed pair of shoes where this has not happened to me. Now they are broken in and feel like cotton wool around my foot.
