Not macht erfinderisch. Auf Instagram tummeln sich seit dem Ausbruch der Pandemie kreative #stayhome Projekte. Sie setzen sich auf schaffende Weise mit COVID-19 aus, der Isolation und den Folgen für die Menschen. Ich habe mich für Venus 2.0 nach inspirierenden Feeds umgesehen und stelle euch drei davon vor.

1. #isolationcreation – Jamie Beck

“Ich bin heute aufgewacht, wie viele von uns, mit auf Eis gelegten Arbeitsplätzen, mein Baby ist auf unbestimmte Zeit aus der Kinderkrippe raus, und es klingt, als würde sich Frankreich auf einen vollständigen Lockdown zubewegen. (…) Ich verpflichte mich, solange diese Krise uns beherrscht, jeden Tag ein originelles fotografisches Kunstwerk zu schaffen. Ich sehe dies als eine Herausforderung an mich selbst, das, was ich jeden Tag schaffen kann, voranzutreiben, um als Künstlerin zu wachsen und etwas Positives aus einer Situation herauszuholen, die keiner von uns jemals vorhersehen konnte. (…) Wir stecken da gemeinsam drin!

Jamies postet seit Beginn der Quarantäne in Frankreich jeden Tag ein Bild unter dem Hashtag #isolationcreation. Interessant werden die Posts aber vor allem dann, wenn man auch die Captions dazu liest: Wie ein Tagebuch dokumentieren sie die Zustände in Zeiten der Pandemie. Sie sind eine Momentaufnahme der Quarantäne und der absurden Umstände, in denen wir uns im Frühling des Jahres 2020 wiedergefunden haben.

2. Behind Glass – Lisa Sorgini

“Als Mutter von zwei Kindern und nachdem ich gerade meine gesamte bezahlte Arbeit ‘auf Eis gelegt’ hatte, verbringe ich jetzt meine Tage damit, mit meinen beiden Jungen zu Hause einen neue Rhythmen zu lernen.
Ich weiß, wie wichtig es ist, dies durch die Augen einer Mutter zu dokumentieren. Unsere Kinder brauchen mehr Verständnis und Zärtlichkeit als je zuvor, um sie durch diese ungewöhnliche Zeit zu führen, was es wiederum schwieriger macht, mit unserer eigenen Achterbahn der Emotionen und Reaktionen zu jonglieren, da unsere Zeit mit uns und für uns alleien jetzt gegen Null läuft. ‘Behind Glass Mother and Child’ erscheinen mir wie lebende und atmende Meisterwerke, eine göttliche Komödie in der Häuslichkeit”

“Behind Glass Mother” ist eine Porträtserie, die 22 Mütter zu Hause mit ihren Kindern während der Isolation in Australien zeigt, aufgenommen vollständig durch ein Fenster. Eine globale Pandemie mit massenhaften staatlichen Kontrollmaßnahmen, wie wir sie noch nie zuvor gesehen haben, hat dazu geführt, dass die Hälfte der Weltbevölkerung in ihren Häusern in unterschiedlichem Ausmaß unter Zwangseinschluss steht.

3. The Social Distance Project

Alles hat mit einem Tweed angefangen. Darin rief die Social Media Redakteurin Meg Zukin Paare dazu auf ihre Erfahrungen aus der Isolation zu teilen. Heute können wir über 200 Snippets aus dem Leben von Paaren während der Isolation lesen. Mal urkomisch, mal unfassbar traurig.

Necessity is the mother of invention. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Instagram has been home to creative #stayhome projects. They creatively expose COVID-19, the isolation and the consequences for people. I've been looking for inspirational feeds for Venus 2.0 and I'd like to introduce you to three of them.

1. #isolationcreation – Jamie Beck

   “This is Day 1: I woke up today, like many of you, with jobs put on hold for the foreseeable future, my baby out of crèche indefinitely, and it sounding like France is moving toward a full lockdown. I decided today to take the power back from losing work, losing freedom, losing support, and get into the studio to commit, to as long as this crisis has a hold on us, and create one original piece of photographic art each day. 
   I see this as a challenge to myself to push what I can create every day in order to grow as an artist and produce something positive out of a situation none of us could ever anticipate. -
   I hope to bring you daily beautiful content while also sharing my knowledge and love for photography in stories sharing the creative process along the way in order for us to feel less alone. We are in this together!”

Jamies has posted a picture under the hashtag #isolationcreation every day since the beginning of the quarantine in France. The posts become interesting when you read the captions: Like a diary, they document the conditions in times of pandemic. They are a snapshot of the quarantine and the absurd circumstances in which we found ourselves in spring 2020.

2. Behind Glass – Lisa Sorgini

“As a mother of two children and having just had all of my paid work ‘put on hold’, I am now spending my days learning new rhythms with my two boys at home. 
I can appreciate the importance of documenting this through a mothers eyes, our children require more understanding and tenderness than ever to help guide them through this unusual period, which in turn makes it trickier to juggle our own rollercoaster of emotions and responses as our time alone is now next to nil. 'Behind Glass mother and child appear to me like living and breathing masterpieces, a divine comedy in domesticity. All at once I can see the deepest tenderness, boredom, love, chaos, and despair'“

"Behind Glass Mother" is a series of portraits showing 22 mothers at home with their children during their isolation in Australia, taken entirely through a window. A global pandemic with massive governmental control measures such as we have never seen before has resulted in half the world's population being confined in their homes to varying degrees.

3. The Social Distance Project

It all started with a tweed. Social media editor Meg Zukin called on couples to share their experiences of isolation. Today we can read over 200 snippets from the lives of couples during isolation. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes incredibly sad.
